CKCC and Its Physicians

The California Kidney Cancer Center
The California Kidney Cancer Center was founded to make new and advanced forms of therapy for kidney cancer readily available throughout Northern California.

The Center combines a multidisciplinary approach to patient care with clinical research using new forms of immunotherapy not available in most hospitals. Both standard cancer therapy and clinical research protocols are available for patients.

Physicians Experience

The Center is under the direction of experienced medical leadership.

Dr. James Bennington, the Center's consulting pathologist, is the author of the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology Fasicle, Tumors of the Kidney.

Dr. David Minor, the Center's Medical Director, has been treating patients with high-dose interleukin-2 since 1988. He is also experienced with the use of LAK cells, TIL cells, and other lymphokines for cancer therapy.

Dr. Joseph T. Spaulding, the Center's Surgical Director, received his training in urologic oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and was chairman of the genito-urinary committee of the Northern California Oncology Group for ten years.
